Sugato‘s work experience in human resource management and leadership includes both public and private sector and manufacturing and service sector organizations.

During his HR career of 20 plus years, Sugato has worked closely with business leaders in diverse industry settings and environments and has designed, developed and led a variety of business-focused initiatives in the areas of L&D, OD, Performance Management and other Talent Management Systems.

Before setting up his own consulting practice, Sugato worked with Prysmian SpA management. Prior to that, he was instrumental in starting up the HR consulting business of the Nicco Group, where as Senior Vice President HR Services, he played a pivotal role in the start up phase and later in managing and leading the consulting business.

Currently, as President of PeopleProfit – the HR consulting arm of Thinktank Management Services (P) Limited, he consults with organisations in the areas of HR Strategy, HR Systems, Organisation Diagnosis, organisational and individual capability building.

He also works with senior executives on one-on-one platform to help them address issues of personal and professional effectiveness and help them contribute more richly in their roles.

The clients Sugato has worked with, interalia, include Aditya Birla Group, All India Management Association (AIMA), Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Birla Sun Life AMC, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Godrej & Boyce, GSK Healthcare, Heinz, Haldia Petrochemicals, Indian Oil, Jet Airways, JSW Steel, Johnson & Johnson, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Tata Power, Sony India, UB Group and many others.

Sugato was the winner of Annual OD Research Grant of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).

He frequently speaks and presents papers at international seminars and conferences, such as Annual Conference of ASTD (New Orleans), International Federation of Training & Development Organizations (IFTDO) Conference (Cairo), and International Learning & Development Conference (Kuala Lumpur).

He has been a visiting faculty at XLRI, Jamshedpur, where he taught an elective course in the Post Graduate (PM & IR) Program, for several years.

Sugato holds a Postgraduate degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from Delhi University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling and Guidance from NCERT.
